PSK DLY-2 – South Korean, genuine BBD analog delay from the 1980s. Essentially the Korean relative/clone of the Boss DM-2.
It features three controls:
- D.TIME – approx. 20–300 ms, which is considered a short delay by modern standards. Interestingly, according to reports, the DLY-2 works in reverse compared to the DM-2: turning the knob to the left increases the delay time.
- D.LEVEL – volume of the delayed signal.
- FEEDBACK – controls the number of repeats; at higher settings, the pedal can be pushed into self-oscillation.
This is not simply an exact DM-2 copy. According to a detailed Korean comparison, the DLY-2 has a darker, deeper, dirtier and more aggressive character. The repeats progressively lose high frequencies, become distorted and increasingly noisy – exactly the kind of vintage BBD character that boutique pedals are made to recreate today. With the feedback turned up, it can also produce particularly wild self-oscillation.
