Description

Philips electronics components group was the name given to the products marketed in America after Philips bought the American valve manufacturer Sylvania in the early 1980s. Sylvania was a major manufacturer of valves and Philips bought them to get the lucrative American Government and military contracts. These valves are of the highest military grade which offer outstanding performance and were all made in the USA.

The military grade JAN specification Philips 6V6GT is considered by many as the best sounding 6V6GT for use in Fender amplifiers.

The reason for this is that no other 6V6GT supplies that sparkling clean sound and top end chime that the military USA Philips 6V6GT delivers. That is why this valve is considered the bench mark when it comes to Fender style clarity

These are the identical valves that Fender used and branded Fender thought the mid-1970s through to the mid-1980s. They produce a warm and vibrant top end with a nice smooth crunchy distortion when overdriven. They have a nice dynamic sound which works really well with single coil Fenders or Humbucking Gibson's.

The valve, due to its military specification is built like a tank with copper support rods and reinforced anode plates; you do not get any rattles with this valve.
