The I-35 LC Vintage is Collings' semi-hollow rebuilt around the best instruments of the 1960s. Next to the standard I-35 LC it shares only the body dimensions. The laminate and centre block recipes are its own, the neck construction is redesigned, and the electronics change to custom Throbak ESG-102B humbuckers with CTS pots and Luxe Bumblebee caps in 50s-style wiring. Collings ages the finish and hardware in house.The aim is a looser, more broken-in feel and response than a new semi-hollow usually has. The body is maple laminate over a maple/spruce centre block, the neck is Honduran mahogany set with an extra long mortise and tenon joint, and the fingerboard is bound rosewood with 5mm MOP long dots on a 12" radius.This one is in Aged Tobacco Sunburst with a Kluson stop tailpiece and gold reflector knobs.
