The Shure SM77is a dynamic microphone from the 1980s that's closely related to the Shure SM57. Its transformerless design and lightweight aluminum voice coil are often credited with giving it a faster transient response and a slightly more open, detailed sound than a standard SM57. The finish on these microphones is known to fade as has happened on this one. I bought this microphone used a few years ago, and it has always functioned and sounded as it should while I have used it.
