The ALH Effects Starting Gun is a French boutique silicon fuzz pedal inspired by the BC109 Fuzz Face, designed in particular to recreate the saturated tones of David Gilmour’s Animals / late ’70s era. Handmade in Nantes, it captures the rich, aggressive, and singing character of vintage silicon Fuzz Faces while offering greater stability and versatility. Its main advantage over vintage circuits is the addition of a tone control, allowing you to smooth out or brighten the top end depending on the amp and guitar, along with work done to reduce background noise. The result is an expressive, dynamic fuzz that is easier to integrate into a modern setup, ideal for singing leads, long sustain, and psychedelic rock textures.
