Based off a modern legend the Sonic Bronchitis is a pedal that clips its own power amp (LM386) to create amp-like distortion. With a JFET pre-amp stage, your signal gets boosted and clipped by the front end of the power amp. After the 386 there is another jfet stage to add some more harmonics and grit. These three stages create tube like overdrive with lots of dynamics, clarity and grind. Depending on your picking style, pick-ups, and gain settings you can go from bluesy overdrive to full blown armageddon. Yet, even at high gain, full chords remain clear and tight. Frequency response is designed for heavily
down-tuned guitars.
POWER
Works with 2.1mm Boss styled standard 9 Volt power jacks (Sorry, no batteries). Consumes about 25mA. Upgraded power supply with over-engineered capacitor's and resistors keeps this thing quiet.
TONE
Hi-Cut filter with an added output buffer is very similar to a RAT's tone control. Simple, easy to use and straight to the point.
GAIN
JFET boosts guitar signal into a buffer for better frequency response. Everything above 400 milli-volts gets clipped by the pedals power amp. More clockwise equals more DOOM.
VOLUME
Works as expected. DISCLAIMER: This pedal gets LOUD.
INTERNAL TRIMMERS
Adjusts the DC bias voltage for the JFETs. Gives the pedal a little more or a little less gain. It is not recommended fiddling with these.

Fowl Sounds takes pride in using high quality parts including real Alpha switches, Neutrik jacks, Xicon and Yageo resistors, and Kemet, Nichicon, and Vishay capacitors, and Lumberg DC jacks.
WARRANTY
We have worked hard to ensure our pedals will work for a long time. Workmanship (ie soldering and assembly) has a lifetime warranty for normal wear and tear. We will try and repair accidental damage to the best of our ability for a small bench fee.
RETURN
Our pedals are hand built in small batches. We will not accept returns because it is “not your thing”. However, we do understand the eternal quest for tone and encourage selling and trading of our products.

We package well and ship fast. Currently, we only ship to the Continental US, but feel free to contact us and we will try our best to work something out.
