Founded in California in 1976 by David Schecter, Schecter Guitar Research has gradually established itself as an essential reference among rock and metal guitarists. Renowned for its distinctive instruments, carefully executed finishes and technical specifications particularly suited to modern music, Schecter has developed a strong identity by offering guitars that successfully combine aesthetics, playing comfort and performance. The Omen Extreme range perfectly embodies this philosophy, delivering a particularly attractive level of equipment.

The Omen Extreme-7 is a seven-string guitar with particularly striking looks, featuring a beautiful Quilted Maple top enhanced by its See-Through Black finish, sculpted body contours and elegant cream binding. This combination gives it a distinctly high-end appearance, well beyond what its original price positioning might suggest.

But this guitar is about much more than just good looks. Its bolt-on Maple neck, combined with a Rosewood fingerboard and 24 X-Jumbo frets, provides a comfortable playing feel and excellent access to the upper register. Its extended 26.5-inch scale length, specifically designed for seven-string guitars, ensures well-controlled string tension and excellent low-end definition, even when using lower tunings.

In terms of electronics, the two Schecter Diamond Plus pickups deliver generous output, with precise, dynamic tones perfectly suited to rock and metal styles. The coil-splitting system also considerably expands the tonal palette, providing access to cleaner, more open sounds. The fixed Tune-O-Matic bridge with string-through-body construction completes an exceptionally well-balanced package, prioritizing sustain, stability and efficiency.

A versatile, comfortable and particularly attractive seven-string guitar, benefiting from solid build quality, convincing specifications and a strong visual identity. An excellent choice for guitarists looking for a modern instrument capable of handling everything from heavy metal riffs to more nuanced musical styles, without compromising on playing enjoyment or value for money.
