Höfner Hofner 500/1 1967 Heavy relic Violin Beatles Bass

Decisions have consequences, and since I've bought yet another guitar that I don't need, at least one has to go.

You might recognize this one from a series of shorts on my Instagram account (shameless plug: szymek.banas :-)

It started as a bass that looked semi-decent, but had many problems that had to be addressed.

The renovation included:

- gluing the neck break with hide glue

- refret, fret leveling, and overall setup

- zero nut repair

- neck reset, reglue (tite bond), removing the long nasty bolt going through the heel, and replacing it with an insert- trust me, this neck is going nowhere

This is just a very short overview of what was done to make this guitar play, but there were so many smaller steps (like for example proper cleaning of the tuners, or binding repair), that You can actually see on my Instagram profile. I've put a lot of time and effort in this bass, but actual videos show the full extent of what I've done.

Anyways, now this is a fully working bass with a decent action of 2-2.5 mm, strung with a set of Pyramid Stirngs (same as McCartney used back in the day)

It comes with a Thomann hardshell case.
