Gibson Copper Top Les Paul Classic 2002 Ex Chris Cornell Band Yogi Lonich Guitar + Case

Here for sale is a Gibson Copper Top Les Paul Classic from 2002, that was previously owned by Yogi Lonich, who used this guitar on tour with Chris Cornell's solo band in 2006 and beyond.

Yogi Lonich has also been a member of some great bands including Filter, Fuel, The Wallflowers and Buckcherry and has shared the stage and recorded with Shakira, Anastacia, The Doors, Cat Stevens and many more. The guitar comes with the original Gibson case with a grey plush lining and dust cover. The side of the case reads 'Gibson Copper Top - Eb' and was used for the songs in that tuning for in the Chris Cornell set. You can see Yuri Lonich performing with Chris Cornell with this very guitar in many concerts, and in promo videos for the single release of 'Safe & Sound' from Chris Cornell's second solo album. The guitar is in excellent condition, with some light play wear above the pick ups and some tiny finish dings around the lower bout of the guitar. There is also some tiny dings on the top side of the body and some play wear to the back of the body, which is what you would would expect from such a great player that has seen a lot of road and this just gives it great rock 'n' roll character. The pick up selector has been adjusted so it is at an angle so you don't tend to hit it with your hand when strumming. 

The frets are good and the guitar features gorgeous amber inlays on the fretboard and caramel coloured binding which really accentuates the copper top finish. The volume and tone controls have also a lovely orange amber colour. The pick ups sound incredible with those classic Gibson Les Paul full humbucer sounds, suitable for any style of music. The approximate measurements of the guitar neck are as follows; The width of the nut is 43.40mm / 1.709", the depth of the neck at the first fret is 20.68mm / 0.814" and 22.96mm / 0.904" at the 12th fret. It has slim C shape profile with a 10" fretboard radius. The width of the frets are 2.27mm / 0.0895" wide and 1.27mm / 0.050" deep.

This Gibson Copper Top Les Paul Classic is an exceptional guitar in its own right but to have one so much great musical history is very special. Chris Cornell is one of the greats, a voice of generation and an artist for all time, and this guitar has been on stage with him and Chris enjoyed it's wondrous tones played by Chris's friend and bandmate Yuri Lonich, who is also a fantastic player and artist in his own right.
