For sale: Fender American Vintage Reissue ’57 Stratocaster (AVRI ’57), made in 1989 at the Corona Plant, California, USA.
Production year confirmed by neck heel and neck pocket stamps.

An early Corona-era example, built at a time when Fender was strongly re-establishing its reputation for historically accurate reissues. Late ’80s AVRI instruments are increasingly appreciated for their wood selection, consistency and vintage-correct specifications.

Electronics, pickups, bridge, tuners and plastics are original.
The only change are currently installed gold strap locks. Original strap buttons are included in the case.

The nitro lacquer is in exceptional condition. No checking, no lacquer cracks, no structural issues. Considering the year (1989), the condition is truly excellent. The finish shows almost no visible play wear, which is uncommon for a 35+ year old nitro instrument.

Neck is straight, truss rod works correctly, frets are in very good condition, electronics fully functional. The guitar feels resonant, open and dynamic – exactly what you expect from a good alder/maple ’57-style Strat. Clear highs, articulate mids and tight low end.

Early AVRI models represent the period when Fender proved it could properly honor its pre-CBS heritage again. This is not a Custom Shop instrument, but these late ’80s AVRI guitars have built their own reputation over the years and are becoming harder to find in this level of preservation.
