The 2617 is an Artist series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1975. It was made in Japan by FujiGen. It is also known as the Artwood Artist.

The 2617 features an carved ash double-cutaway body with German carve edges, abalone purfling and cream binding mated to a set-in maple neck with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard with binding and abalone and mother of pearl split block position markers. Components include a pair of Super 70 humbucking pickups mounted in black pickup rings with individual volume and tone controls, a Tune-O-Matic style bridge and stop tailpiece, speed knobs with pointers and Smooth Tuner machine heads.

For 1977 the Gibraltar bridge with sustain block embedded in the body and the slotted Gibraltar tailpiece with scalloped "cloud" ornament were introduced, along with new Super 80 "Flying Finger" pickups, a bone and brass nut and VelveTune machine heads. For 1978 the knobs were replaced with Sure Grip knobs with rubber grip insert.

The 2619 is a related model with a mahogany body and maple top. The 2680 is a related model with a modified body shape with shorter horns and a unique headstock which was a signature model for Bob Weir. The 2670 Artwood Twin is a related model which adds a 12-string neck.

The 2617 was discontinued in 1980 and replaced by the AR250 which adds a Tri-sound switch.
