The 2409B is a Professional series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 1975. It was produced in Japan. It is also know as the Black Eagle.
The 2409B features a double-cutaway mahogany body with curved horns bolted to a laminated maple neck with a 20-fret maple fingerboard with black fancy intricate position markers and black binding and a graceful shaped headstock with "F" hole, a bone nut. Components include a set of JB-Sound pickup's on the neck and bridge positons, a black pickguard with a mother of pearl eagle inlay, a vintage style bridge with 19mm string, vintage open gear machine heads and chrome hardware.
For 1976 the pickups were changed to a twin Ibanez Super Bass jazz pickups.
It is believed that a total of 500 units were manufactured.
The 2609B is a similar model.
The 2409B was discontinued after 1976.
It has a very nice straight neck with great frets. It's in good condition with only some nicks + dings+ paint cracks. Everything remains structurally sound. All electronics work and sound great.
