Greco SE-800 Custom Order 1979 upgraded

This is Greco SE-800 Custom Order made in 1979 with selected one piece wood with beautiful grains in transparent finish (check the pictures). It is light and resonant wood that looks amazing and feels greats as such very thin, transparent finish allows feeling wood’s structure and is not sticky like nitro.

Such finish is very rare and was made only os special custom order. Neck is also unique with very dark fingerboard. Steel block bridge with original arm included.

The body is in almost perfect condition, which is amazing given it is 46 years old. Fingerborad is also with excellent condition, just a few small dings on the back of the neck and headstock.

Tuners were uprated with Spergel booked ones.

Pickups were upgraded with Q Pickups HEAVY RELIC 68 69 Pickups SET Hand Wound 1968 – 1974 - these are fantastic, hands made in Croatia  pickups with extra chime and sustain. Each detail in this set is true to the originals and recreate classic late 60s vintage tones:

• hand / scatter wound with Elektrisola PLAIN ENAMEL 42AWG enameled copper wire
• GREY BOTTOM / BLACK TOP vulcanized fiberboard flatwork
• sand cast A5 polepieces / right hand staggering
• period correct PVC hookup wire / black ground, white hot
• mounting screws and tubing included
• wax potted
• NON-RWRP middle pickup.
• Electronics was also uprated with Q Pickups wiring harness "33 Special" Strat P.I.O. 0,033uF CTS . Professionally hand-soldered these harnesses using the best brand-name components for long life and great sound:

• 5-way switch USA Oak Grigsby
• CTS 250kOhm Audio Taper Potentiometers with fine knurling
• cloth covered push back Gavitt wire
• 0,033uF Paper In Oil Capacitor 200V 10% K40Y-9
• assembled and soldered on a thin aluminium plate that will fit most Strat style guitars, both USA and import
• Switchcraft jack This set allows wider and more precise use of volume and tone pots.

Cavity is shielded with copper foil which is grounded, so no hum.

The guitar sounds great, open, uncompressed tone with big and tight bass, extra upper midrange, chime and long sustain. It’s in pair with custom shops starts I’ve tried and beats all below CS ones I’ve had in my hand. Definitely unique and distinguishes from other guitars thanks to exceptional wood and special pickups combination.
