This bass started its life as a 1967 3-tone sunburst. It was bought by Bert Månsson -67 who played in a famous Swedish "dansband" called Ingmar Nordströms where he started out playing bass but later he played keys.

However this bass was the studio bass that they used on all their records.

In the seventies i went through a real overhaul. (See last couple of pics)

They completly stripped the paint to natural finish and it was fitted with a ton of brass details. A big block of brass was fitted between the pickups, a big two piece brass pickguard, a large brass bridge, brass stringtrees, brass knobs, and a brass nut.

There was probably 4kgs of just brass parts when we stripped it all off, except the brass nut thats still on. It also got a new neck in the late 70s (it dates 77/78) probably because it was broken. But the original -67 lollipop mashineheads was mounted back on the -77/78 neck.

We tried selling it as it was but was just too heavy so it didnt get any interest.

So we put in a new piece of American ash inbetween the pickups, had it refinished professionally in nitro cellulosa fiesta red. You can still see the original 3tone paint in the neck pocket.

Added a new Fender American vintage bridge, new turtouise pickguard, Fender original knobs, Fender original controlplate, Fender original stringtree, Fender original thumbrest, new screws and a complete setup.

Electronics are all original 67 jazz pickups and original -67 pots/wiering.

Its an awesome sounding jazzbas and it plays fantastic. Really really happy how it turned out.

Looks brand new but sounds and feels like a vintage jazz.

A real player!
