Original Neve 1272 Preamps re-housed by Brent Averill. Serials numbers 2654 & 2655.
Brent Averill takes 1272 modules and houses them and adds features. The 1272 preamp is comprised of the same 283 card which the 1073 uses. Used as a preamp, it adds subharmonics to the low end which rounds out the bottom end of a sound & smoothes the top end which gives the highs a silky sheen.
The 1272 also compresses transients a little bit. It is a smooth, fat, larger than life sound. Two Class A preamps with direct inputs in a single rack space. High Impedance direct input for guitar and synthesizer. Balanced mic input and balanced +4 dB output are on XLR connectors off the rear of the module. Same Class A preamp as Neve 1073 equalizer/preamp modules.
