This is a rare piece of Rickenbacker history! (Okok, you've read this line before!)
Rickenbacker acoustics ARE rare, no question about it.

This is the first 700 Shasta model (with solid rosewood back and sides/ Spruce top) from April 1994, which is pictured on the front cover and on the inside of the "700 Series" catalogue of the 90s.
AND this guitars was on loan to the late, great Glen Frey (of the Eagles) for the studio recordings of the "Hell Freezes Over" album, which came out at the end of 1994.

How I got it, you may ask?!
Short-long story: Rickenbacker showed 3 acoustics at the Frankfurt Music Fair in the spring of 1995. I asked Mr. Hall on the last day, what they will do with the acoustics. I was fortunate to buy a 730 Shiloh dreadnought right there.
After 5-6 months the neck started to come off at the heel.
I sent Rickenbacker a fax(!!), what I could do. Mr. Hall replied, that he was sorry, but, because it was bought directly from Rickenbacker, he can offer me an exchange guitar. But they "just" can offer me a Jumbo, which is in the studio with the Eagles at the moment. Okaaaaaaay.... as a mod not my band, but somehow cool anyway...
And Mr. Hall forced me to bring the broken guitar in person to the factory in Santa Ana... which was for a mod even more complicated - going to America... sooo stupid in retrospect.
So I flew to LA for the NAMM 1996 and did the guitar swap at the factory, which started a lifelong friendship and love with Rickenbacker and California.
Thank you for your attention! ;-)
