The neck is perfectly straight, has a compensated bridge for optimal intonation, a rosewood fingerboard with 24 frets, and plays like a dream. The original frets are polished to a high shine, show no visible signs of wear, and have enough material for years of intensive playing.All the electronics work flawlessly: no scratchy or wobbly potentiometers, no loose connections, no interference, all solder joints are original and untouched. Like its sibling, the Music Man Stingray, the Bongo also features active pickups: The two Music Man NeoDym humbuckers are equipped with an active 18V preamp powered by two 9V batteries, conveniently accessible via two snap-in compartments on the back of the body.The smooth blending between the two humbuckers allows for an extremely wide range of tones. This is further enhanced by a low B string that sounds exceptionally clear and defined, yet can also deliver massive punch.
