The Yamaha RAS-1455 Recording Custom Aluminum Snare Drum brings Yamaha’s metal snare lineup into the legendary Recording Custom series with the consistency, clarity, and professional sound functionality the line is known for. Designed in cooperation with Steve Gadd, this 5.5x14 aluminum snare delivers crisp articulation, excellent sensitivity, and dependable control for studio and live performance.

The 1.2mm aluminum shell features an outward center bead, a departure from Yamaha’s traditional internal center bead design. This design helps produce a more open sound with a crisp, articulate response, while the 5.5" depth keeps the drum quick, focused, and highly responsive under the sticks.

The RAS-1455 is fitted with 3.0mm aluminum die-cast hoops, one-piece lugs, and Yamaha’s heavy-duty Q-type strainer for smooth operation, stable adjustment, and easy snare wire replacement. The result is a professional aluminum snare with a wide tuning range, clean attack, controlled decay, and the kind of consistency players expect from the Recording Custom series.
