Why Austin MacNutt has acquired an excellent reputation in the Fender Custom Shop within a short period of time is clearly evident in this ingeniously crafted '62 reissue! The basis is a Stratocaster as it left Corona around September 1962. With its still deep contours, the body gives a rather delicate impression, which is underlined by the weight of just 3352 grams. Not too heavy and not too lightweight - this guitar simply fits perfectly in your hand! Typical for this period is the rosewood fingerboard as a "Round Lam" variant, which is still quite thick. This is also historically correct and perfectly implemented (the rosewood fingerboards became thinner in the summer of 1963). The neck itself is made of Rif Sawn Maple. This variant of the wood cut offers the greatest possible stability and is therefore often used by the Custom Shop employees. In terms of the choice of wood and its processing, nothing is left to be desired. And the electronics/pickups and hardware ? Hand-wound "Fat 60s" single coils perfectly transfer the exciting basic sound of this Stratocaster to the amp. Tight basses, powerful highs and impressive dynamics ensure plenty of fun while playing. This is further supported by the "60s Style Oval C" neck profile and the flat fretboard radius, which allows for a low string action. The staggered vintage tuners ensure unadulterated joy when using the tuning-stable tremolo. Without any doubt a top-class Strat!
