The 2008 Gibson Les Paul Classic "1960" is a highly regarded electric guitar that represents the final production year of the original Classic run (1990–2008) before Gibson fundamentally redesigned the model lineup.

• The "1960" SlimTaper Neck: Built with a 1-piece mahogany neck featuring an incredibly fast, thin '60s profile. It is noticeably slimmer than the chunky '50s profiles found on Standards of the same era.

• High-Output Ceramic Pickups: Equipped with Buestbucker 1&2 humbuckers. These pickups are aggressive, hot, and tailored for hard rock and metal.

• Body Construction: Features a solid mahogany back paired with a carved plain maple top. The 2008 models are chambered or weight-relieved

• Distinctive Aged Inlays: Features bound rosewood fretboards with trapezoid inlays that have a distinct, slightly greenish/aged tint. While polarizing to some purists, it is an intended factory aesthetic to simulate a vintage look.
