StewMac Premium Mahogany Tonewood 1x12 speaker cabinet, professionally assembled and finished, and loaded with a Fane Ascension A60 Alnico speaker.
The cabinet is made from solid 3/4" premium mahogany sourced from Taylor Guitars manufacturing offcuts. Unlike a conventional plywood or MDF speaker cabinet, this was designed by StewMac specifically as a tonewood cabinet, with dovetail construction and a removable rear panel allowing open- or closed-back operation.
This cabinet is no longer available from StewMac and has been discontinued, making these increasingly difficult to find, particularly in Europe.
Originally supplied as a kit, this cabinet has already been carefully assembled and finished. Although the parts are CNC-cut and pre-routed, achieving a clean, properly aligned and well-finished result still requires woodworking, gluing, sanding and finishing skills.
Loaded with the excellent UK-made Fane Ascension A60, a 60-watt Alnico 12" speaker with a warm, articulate and highly dynamic response.
The cabinet has never left the house and has essentially only been played to make sure everything works as it should. It is in excellent condition.
A very unusual solid-mahogany 1x12 and a particularly nice match with the Fane Alnico speaker.
