About this listing
Up for sale is a classic 1983 Fender Super Champ from the highly regarded Rivera era. Designed under the direction of Paul Rivera during his time at Fender, these amps represent one of the last hand-wired (eyelet-board) tube designs produced in Fullerton before the CBS sale. They successfully combined classic Fender clean tone and spring reverb with practical modern features like master volume and a switchable lead channel. The Super Champ delivers classic Fender chime and clarity on the clean channel, with the ability to push into natural tube breakup. The lead channel adds extra gain for crunch and lead tones, while the master volume and mid-boost make it highly usable at a variety of volumes. It’s a favorite for home practice, recording, and small gigs—loud enough to keep up in many situations while remaining compact and relatively lightweight. These Rivera-era Super Champs have developed a strong following for their combination of classic Fender character, practical features, and hand-wired construction. They punch well above their size and remain one of the more collectible and usable small Fender combos from the early 1980s.Please ask any questions and feel free to request additional photos.
