As a solid-wood Marcus King Signature acoustic guitar, it impresses with its expressive appearance and numerous personalised details that reflect King’s musical roots and his close connection to the southern states of the USA. These include the rosewood bridge featuring the outline of South Carolina and the Tennessee Tri-Star emblem, as well as the striking signature pickguard modelled on King’s El Dorado. A laser-engraved autograph on the back of the headstock stylishly rounds off the bespoke design. Thanks to its built-in pickup, the Signature Dreadnought is also ideally suited for amplified performances. The Epiphone Marcus King El Dorado is supplied in a matching case featuring an exclusive signature graphic. All-Solid DreadnoughtPowerful, balanced and rich in overtones, the Epiphone Marcus King El Dorado boasts the characteristic sound of a solid-wood Dreadnought. The solid spruce top ensures a direct response, clear trebles and dynamic tone development, whilst the solid rosewood back and sides lend the sound a rich bass foundation, prominent lower mid-range and a multifaceted overtone structure. Thanks to its voluminous Dreadnought body, the guitar produces an impressive richness of tone that effectively showcases both powerful strumming and nuanced picking. The result is an assertive yet detailed acoustic sound with plenty of dynamics and a long, harmonious sustain. Short scale lengthWhen it comes to playability, the Epiphone Marcus King El Dorado impresses with a comfortable feel that supports both powerful rhythm work and expressive lead playing. The mahogany neck with a Rounded-C profile sits comfortably and securely in the hand, providing a familiar foundation for a wide variety of playing techniques. The ebony fingerboard ensures a smooth playing feel and allows for precise movements across the entire length of the neck. With its short scale length of 629 mm, the Dreadnought also offers a pleasantly soft string tension. This makes chords, bends and quick position changes particularly comfortable to execute. L. R. Baggs Element Bronze VTCFor professional use on stage, the guitar is fitted with the L. R. Baggs Element Bronze VTC. The pickup system has been developed to authentically reproduce the natural tonal character of the acoustic guitar when connected to an amplifier or PA system. This ensures that the Dreadnought’s powerful response and its rich, multifaceted acoustic sound are convincingly showcased even when amplified. The system’s straightforward operation is particularly practical. The volume and tone controls are discreetly positioned in the soundhole and are easily accessible whilst playing. Thanks to this unobtrusive integration, the characteristic appearance of the Marcus King Signature Dreadnought is also preserved. The L. R. Baggs Element Bronze VTC thus makes the Epiphone Marcus King El Dorado a versatile instrument for anyone who wants to present their acoustic sound convincingly, not only at home but also during rehearsals, sessions and live performances.
