This is the KHDK No.1 Overdrive, the original KHDK overdrive pedal associated with Kirk Hammett / KHDK Electronics. It is designed as an amp-like overdrive with a strong, dynamic response and a wide gain range, from lower-gain pushed-amp tones to thicker drive and distortion-style saturation.

The pedal uses a four-control layout with Gain, Volume, Bass, and Treble. Gain controls the main drive level, Volume sets output level, Bass shapes the low end and lower-mid push, and Treble controls the top-end response. The center mini-toggle selects between Lo and Hi gain modes, giving the pedal two distinct operating ranges. Lo mode works well for boost, classic crunch, and lower-gain drive. Hi mode adds more gain and compression for heavier rhythm tones, saturated leads, and amp-like distortion.

This is a strong choice for rock, hard rock, metal, heavier blues, lead boost, and pushing an already driven amp. It can be used as a main overdrive into a clean amp, as a boost into a high-gain amp, or as a gain-stage pedal for tightening and adding harmonic bite.
