Höfner 5000/1 Deluxe Violin Bass (1994, Rare, Vintage), Blonde + Gold-Hardware + Case

I'm selling my beautiful Höfner 5000/1 Deluxe Violin Bass due to giving up the hobby. This is the premium version of the 500/1 model with gold hardware, ebony fingerboard, mother-of-pearl diamond inlay, gorgeous bindings and superiour craftmanship.

It is in great condition and has been well-maintained. Please see the pictures and read the description carefully.

Made in Germany in the 1990s, handmade in very small numbers. The serial number suggests it was manufactured in 1994.

Includes original Höfner hardshell case, new strings, and a leather strap with gold security locks.

Natural finish with beautiful wood grain.

Light pearloid pickguard and light pearloid control plate.

Ebony fingerboard (!!) with double pearloid inlays, gold pickups, gold tuners, and gold tailpiece.

Beautiful, unique wood inlays around the body and between the fingerboard and neck demonstrate exquisite craftsmanship. The inlay on the headstock below the Höfner logo is also something special.

New Pyramid Gold flatwound strings.

The frets are flawless, without any dents, as shown in the picture. No work is needed.

Features side dots on the fingerboard. These are not typically found on German-made Höfner basses! This makes playing considerably easier.

It plays with great action and sounds phantastic. No neck-reset is needed (and was not done before).

With a stylish original hardshell case, typical for 90s Höfner basses.

Everything on the case works perfectly, and the case is in very good condition for its age.

Included is a nearly new leather strap with gold security lock strap buttons. Genuine leather, made in Italy. See picture. The shoulder rest has a suede lining on the inside, so nothing can slip.

There is only one spot with light only superficial scratches, on the bottom side, as shown in the picture. The scratches are only visible when held up to the light. They are not visible while playing.

The pickguard holder has been reattached in a different location; there is a small screw in the original hole, as shown in the picture. This modification was made when the pickguard was changed from black to white perloid which gives the bass an even more beautiful look.

The pickguard is securely in place and does not wobble or vibrate. The screws holes are original, no new holes were added.

Black and tortoise pickguards and panels are included for converting the instrument back to its original condition if desired, see photo.

The pickups work fine, both have similar high output.

In the electronics, one pickup-cable was slightly lengthened, and the connection was sealed with heat-shrink tubing. The electronics works fine now after the volume pot for the neck pickup was replaced with a new, high-quality pot from Alpha (special small pots with a thin shaft) because the scratchy sound that had developed persisted even after professional treatment with Kontakt Tuner 600 and Kontakt 61 spray. The rest of the electronics is in original state.

Shipping will be done via DHL parcel with tracking number and is only available to Germany or another EU member state. I will, of course, pack the bass with ample padding. I have shipped instruments many times without any problems. The shipping costs include additional transport insurance covering the full purchase price (as a standard parcel is only insured up to €500).
