Cimar (Hoshino/Ibanez/Chushin Gakki) "1901" guitar - 1975 made in Japan

General introduction and background:

Beautiful Cimar 1901 model. This model appears in the 1975 Cimar catalogue, so I assume it was made around that time. It is a small guitar but has a full “Gibson”-scale of 628mm. Very chimey singlecoils. Cimar was another label of Hoshino Gakki, owners of the Ibanez brand.

As always, the instrument has been serviced completely and is ready to be played immediately. But please read the description carefully!

Measurements, weight and other specs:

-Scale:  628mm

-Nut: ca 42 mm

-Weight: 2,6 kg

-Pickups: two original singlecoils, measuring 2,95k (B), 2,68k (N). 2 slider switches, 1 Master Volume, 1 Master Tone

-Body: wood layers

-Neck: slim D neck, probably some Korina-style hardwood, with a rosewood (?) fingerboard. Original small vintage style frets, 7,25’’ radius.

Condition:

-Body: very good condition with just a couple of minor dings and dongs. Note the lacquer fissures left and right of the neck pocket.

-Neck: the neck is straight, frets are in still good condition with no crevasses. No side dots!

-Head: good condition, no breaks

-Hardware: some signs of age

-Electrics: everything works

-Originality: all original except for the tremolo arm.

Sound and Playability:

-Playability and string action: good playability with good string action of just 1,5 mm dialed in. There is legroom left in the bridge to move it even lower.

-Sound: please listen to the video – the guitar has a chimey, airy singlecoil sound, not harsh and biting, and ideal for strumming jangly rhythm.

Repairs, Service:

As always, the instrument has been serviced completely and is ready to be played immediately.

-Completely cleaned

-Frets polished and fretboard cleaned/oiled

-Electronics serviced and tested for functionality

-Bridge adjusted, intonation checked and dialed in

-New Pyramid 10 strings put on

-Play test and demo with video

-Setup concluded and ready to be played (just tune it up)

Auxiliary stuff:

-No case or bag included. The item will be wrapped well, and put into a sturdy cardboard box with lots of filler material. If you wish I can buy a fitting case at your costs.

AFTER DELIVERY: After receiving the item, please inspect the package for obvious damages and make photos if there are any. After unpacking, check the item immediately for damages or other undocumented flaws. I accept a 14 days return and will pay for shipping if the item is in a different condition than described upon arrival. Please note that I will only take the item back entirely, but not grant any reduction of price and generally only accept returns if the item was unaltered after arrival.
