In the 90s, Ibanez had an overdrive pedal with a MOSFET circuit in its programme - the legendary MT-10 Mostortion pedal. This grass-green floor pedal faded into obscurity after a short time, until it was rediscovered by studio and session guitarists a few years ago and has been a high-priced insider tip ever since. Brian Wampler was inspired by this pedal and has now presented his interpretation of the classic with the Mofetta. Basically, the Mofetta is based on the original, an overdrive pedal with 3-band EQ, an OP amp based on MOSFET technology and clipping diodes for the distortion. The result is a dynamic, amp style overdrive. Brian Wampler is known to be an old pedal hare who modifies and improves legendary circuits. He had the idea of making the circuit work entirely on MOSFET technology - the distortion is generated by cascaded MOSFET transistors, which delivers a tight, direct overdrive with a scoop more gain. The Texture switch allows you to choose between classic Mostortion and the hotter True MOSFET sound.
