Used, in good playing condition. Here is a very special and rare offering - an original 1974  "Flint Hills" Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar; 74-1162 written clearly on the label and signed by every craftsperson in the shop at the time of production. Spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard, ebony bridge, bone nut and saddle, Grover USA tuners, 1-11/16" nut width. At some point in its life a hand-made wooden veneer pick guard was added to the top and is unoriginal (see photos); added strap pin underside the neck heel (see photos). It is rare to see these come up for sale in any condition and despite its "high mileage" and cosmetic wear it has a beautiful voice and some decent "bluegrass action" in terms of playability. The voice is beautiful and proud regardless and will be at home with the right player/appreciator of a rare piece. Below are some finer notes about its condition, please read before inquiring or making a reasonable offer:

The guitar is playing with action slightly higher above standard spec; the bass side reads 4/32" (1/16") @ 12th fret with first fret pressed, the treble side reads a proud 3/32". There is fret wear (mainly some flattening frets 1-7). The front of the bone saddle was shimmed at some point with a strip of ebony added to the bridge. There is a crack extending from the sound hole to the fingerboard extension that is stable. It is clear that the neck was reset at some point in its life (see shim under the fingerboard extension etc) and could use it again if the owner would like to get the action much lower (saddle is as low as it will go). See the full photos series for reference and please ask for more photos if need be and are seriously considering the guitar for purchase.
