Hello, after many years, I am selling my 1978 Byrdland.

A fantastic guitar, with an excellent clean sound and capable of playing anything from Jazz, Fusion and Rock.

It was restored by a professional in 2014 with the intention of adding new frets, a new bone nut, and doing a general overhaul.

The guitar is spectacular, sounds great and is ready for the stage or studio.

The work was so well done by the luthier that nipples were even placed at the ends of the frets next to the neck binding.

Apparently the neck was painted before I got the guitar. I think it was due to wear and tear on the paint from use. I don't think there was any damage to the neck, since the neck is 3 or 5 pieces of maple with a volute, which makes it stronger than the well-known mahogany necks. There is also no visible trace of any possible repair. The neck is strong and holds its tuning.

It has Ernie Ball 10-52 strings.

The guitar has some signs of use, as is natural for a 48-year-old guitar that has been played a lot. In the photos, I try to show these marks as best as possible.

The pickguard is a bit degraded and I had to remove it, but it's included in the sale, as is the case. The strap is not included in the sale.

The serial number is 72058036 and corresponds to the one manufactured at the historic original factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan, in 1978. The black (Ebony) finish is extremely rare for a 1978 Byrdland. it's something extraordinarily rare and valuable. Black was not a standard catalog color for Byrdland in the 70s. At that time, common finishes were Sunburst, Natural, and, at the end of the decade, Wine Red.

If you have any questions, I'm available to answer them.
