Let's get the bad news out of the way first: cosmetically, this SVC-350 is ugly.

Very ugly.

Decades of touring, rack mounting and professional use have left it looking far worse than most examples you'll find for sale.

The good news? It works perfectly.

Please note: a full professional demonstration video is included at the end of the photo gallery.

This is a genuine Roland SVC-350 Vocoder, one of the most iconic and authentic analog vocoders ever produced and a true piece of music history.

A fixture of countless recordings from Spain's Movida Madrileña, the Roland SVC-350 became one of the signature vocoders of its era. This particular unit spent decades in professional touring and recording environments and remains fully functional today.

This unit was originally owned and used by Spanish artist Tino Casal. I purchased it second-hand in the late 1980s and subsequently used it extensively during my touring years with Duncan Dhu and Miguel Ríos.

Unlike most users, I rarely employed it as a conventional vocoder. Instead, I developed a very personal setup by feeding my guitar into both the microphone and instrument inputs simultaneously, creating a unique sound that became a defining part of my guitar tone for nearly two decades.

Condition

Please read carefully.

Cosmetically, this unit is far from pristine.

The previous touring setup required mounting it in a rack, but the original rack ears were missing. At some point, a makeshift solution involving heavy-duty tape was applied to secure it in place. After approximately forty years installed in racks, the adhesive residue and tape marks have left the top and sides in the condition shown in the photographs.

The front panel also retains several original stage labels and markings that were used by road crews to quickly restore my preferred settings during live performances.

For some collectors this may be undesirable.

For others, it forms part of the genuine history of a working professional touring unit.

Operational Condition

Despite its appearance, the unit remains fully functional and operates exactly as intended.

All controls function correctly and it delivers the unmistakable classic Roland vocoder sound for which the SVC-350 has become legendary.
