For sale is a very cool 1979 Music Man StingRay Bass, a classic pre-Ernie Ball vintage example with huge character and unmistakable late-’70s Music Man tone.

This bass features a rare and very interesting factory black overspray over brown finish. The natural wear reveals the brown underneath, giving the instrument a fantastic vintage look and a strong, authentic road-worn vibe. It has aged beautifully and has exactly the kind of character collectors and players love in a real old StingRay.

The bass appears to be largely original and correct for the period, although I cannot confirm whether the potentiometers are original. The instrument is fully working and ready to play.
