1985 Gibson XLP Custom • Vintage White • Custom Shop Edition
I’m offering a rare 1985 Gibson XLP Custom, an early Custom Shop Edition model from the mid-’80s — one of the most unique and short-lived Gibson designs of that era. Sharp, aggressive body lines, ebony fingerboard, full-size PAT NO humbuckers and the unmistakable mid-’80s hard-rock character.
Factory Pickups
This guitar comes with a matched pair of original Gibson PAT NO. 2,737,842 humbuckers — the correct mid-’80s spec.
They deliver a tight, focused low end, strong midrange and clear high-end definition. Classic, authoritative Gibson tone.
Bridge (Kahler → Schaller upgrade)
The model originally shipped with a Kahler tremolo.
In this example, the Kahler was replaced years ago with a high-quality Schaller Steel Roller Trem — a professional hardware upgrade often chosen by players of the era.

- Excellent tuning stability
- No structural issues or routing damage
- Clean installation, blends perfectly with the original spec
