Mosrite Ventures Mk 1 1963 - Sunburst

As a kid, back when Rutherford B. Hayes was president, I thought the coolest guitar on the planet was a Mosrite Ventures. I still think they're pretty cool even if they aren't the most player friendly guitar out there. This is one of the very earliest Ventures models ever made. Serial number 130. The early ones were different than the ones that became very popular in the mid 60's. The early ones had a bound body (gone in 64), the jack was on the side (also gone by 64) and a set neck (bolt on by 64). So, finding one of these is a fairly rare event. Why do I say they aren't player friendly? The frets are tiny and the neck is very narrow and thin. But the overwound (12.08K and 13.23K) P90 style pickups simply roar. It is much more aggressive than I expected. The geometry allows for crazy low action-lower than any guitar I've ever played. It is nearly all original but I replaced the original bridge with a new repro. The original is included and works well but was a little buzzy on the high E string (fixable by swapping the E saddle with the G saddle). The jack plate is replaced-it's metal and should be plastic. A white vintage strap was in the case and will be included. I don't know if it came with the guitar when new. The case is a later Fender style that fits the guitar very well.
