The SSL 12 is a 4-in/8-out USB-C audio interface that builds on the analog circuit philosophy of larger SSL consoles. Featuring two mic/line/instrument inputs and two dedicated line inputs, it offers high-headroom preamps with up to 62 dB gain, suitable for demanding dynamic mics and outboard use.

The 32-bit converters and internal routing matrix support zero-latency monitoring, loopback, and DAW-direct control of outputs. The console-grade Legacy 4K mode introduces subtle high-frequency EQ and harmonic coloration modeled after classic SSL 4000-series desks.

Headphone monitoring is split across two independent outputs with separate level control, both capable of driving low-impedance headphones without distortion. ADAT input allows up to 8 additional channels for expansion with external preamps.

Useful in hybrid setups, SSL 12 includes balanced outputs, a full monitor section with assignable volume knob behavior, MIDI I/O, and robust metal housing. It ships with the SSL Production Pack, including Vocalstrip, Drumstrip, and other software.
