Gibson 1959 Les Paul Authentic Reissue 2005

This Les Paul '59 Authentic Reissue, featuring an incredibly figured top, is part of the 2005 “Gibson Custom Shop Historic Collection,” which is regarded by guitar collectors and players as one of the most prestigious vintage reissues ever produced. It is said that from 2003 to 2006 the Gibson Custom Shop reached a pinnacle in terms of build quality thanks to its exceptional wood selection and craftsmanship. The “Authentic” designation (often referred to as “Custom Authentic”) was a precursor to Gibson’s VOS (Vintage Original Spec) finish program, which wasn’t officially introduced until 2006. It features a slightly aged, satin-like nitrocellulose finish and gently tarnished nickel hardware to give the guitar a well-played, true-to-original vintage appearance in the style of 1959 right out of the factory. ...and this particular instrument is impressive in every way. The “Cherry Sunburst” perfectly captures the look of the old, authentic Les Pauls and the fact that the back of the guitar has faded slightly over the years makes the fantastic vintage look even more authentic. The playability is also outstanding thanks to the comfortable Medium neck profile and a dream weight of just 3880 grams. Truly a phenomenal Les Paul that boasts wonderful resonance. The two Burstbuckers (neck: BB1, bridge: BB2) convey this fundamental character perfectly to the amp: they rock out at breakneck speed at the bridge, yet always maintain a beautifully open and balanced tone. On the neck, it’s pure Blues with the finest, singing lead tones! You’ll want to turn the volume knob to really work with that great tone. Aside from a few minor signs of wear this fantastic Paula — including the frets — is in top condition.
