El Capistan V2 emulates vintage tape echo through Strymon's dTape technology, offering three tape machine types each with three modes, plus adjustable tape age, crinkle, bias, wow and flutter. An integrated spring reverb and a Sound on Sound looper are built into the same pedal.
Input is via a premium analogue JFET Class A preamp with mono or stereo selection, and the pedal runs on an ARM DSP processor with true/buffered bypass, full MIDI control and 300 preset locations, plus delay time sync via MIDI Clock.
Strymon describes El Capistan V2 as delivering vintage tape echo tones through proprietary dTape technology, with three tape machine types, an integrated spring reverb, and Sound on Sound looping for tape-style layering without the maintenance of a real tape unit.
