This 1971 Fender Musicmaster Bass sounds truly excellent; consequently, it was played frequently by its previous owner. The frets showed significant signs of wear. Our luthier refretted the bass using original fret wire, serviced the fretboard, and set it up perfectly. Two holes in the body were professionally filled, and there is a small aftermarket routing modification beneath the pickguard (see photos). At some point in the past, the bass was stripped of its original finish. We have left it in this condition, leaving it up to the new owner to decide whether to apply a new finish—though doing so is by no means necessary. The pickup and potentiometers are original, though they have been rewired. If you are looking for a vintage "player's instrument" that sounds great and plays fantastically, this Musicmaster is the perfect choice!
