Absolutely rad guitar in a beautiful color! I am the second owner, the original owner bought this in 1988, and immediately hooked it up with the EMGs and the switch for the light that lets you know your EMGs are on. Your eyes aren't deceiving you, the jack plate is flipped around, but that is because he needed a place for the battery!
I have had many fenders and squiers over the years (US made, MIJ, Indonesia, etc) and I must say this one is by far the best playing, sounding, and looking! The paint job is nice and thick, the body is NOT ply, and it truly has the most beautiful flame Maple neck I have ever seen!!!! It's even flamed on the fretboard (there is no separate fretboard, the frets go straight into the neck).
This squier is a bit heavier than the average strat, I'd guess it's around 9 lbs. I personally like the feeling of a somewhat heavier guitar, it usually feels better quality.
I read that they used old American and Japanese parts on these, usually I don't buy in to shit like that, but it appeared that way to me even before I read that! It has original beautiful Fender saddles, and Japanese Gotoh tuners.
If you don't know about these E10 Squier's I'd highly recommend reading about them. Thank you for reading! Cheers!
