The SH-32 is a 4-part multi-timbral desktop synth built around Roland’s Wave Acceleration Synthesis engine, delivering up to 32 voices across 67 total waveforms  — including standard synth waves plus unique types like Spectrum and Noise. Rather than being mathematically generated, the raw waveforms are multi-sampled across octave ranges, giving them a fat, organic quality that pure virtual analog often misses. 

Under the hood you get 2 main oscillators and 2 sub-oscillators with an ultra-thick Subsonic mode, pulse width modulation, and oscillator hard sync.  The filters are aggressive and characterful — capable of doing convincing SH-101 and JP-8000 style tones — and the onboard 808/909-style analog drum sounds round out its groove credentials. 

The arpeggiator offers 64 types, and there are also 64 programmable drum rhythm patterns with chord memory  — great for building techno and trance patterns on the fly. Effects include 35 multi-effects insert types plus 10 reverb/delay options. 

It runs perfectly standalone, making it ideal for DJs and live performers who need a self-contained sound module with real groove functionality.  MIDI In/Out included.
