The SG Standard '61 returns to the classic design. Relevant, played, and adored. In 1961 the Gibson's production created an entirely new design, the model known today as the SG, or Solid Guitar.
The Gibson SG Standard '61 maintains the style of the original with a slim, tapered mahogany neck with a bound rosewood fingerboard, the mahogany body, equipped with two Burstbuckers '61 that provide a classic open tone with extra power and presence. This Gibson SG is relatively lightweight and very pleasant to play, especially due to the flexible string tension.
