With the Axcess, Gibson combines the iconic look and features of the "Black Beauty" (ebony fretboard, mother-of-pearl block and split-diamond inlays, glossy black nitrocellulose finish, gold-plated hardware) with a reinforced headstock, a contoured body, weight-relieving body routing, a Floyd Rose and more.
The reliable combination—proven over decades—of a 490R pickup in the neck position and a 498T in the bridge position becomes even more sonically versatile thanks to push-pull pots for coil-splitting, while the modified neck joint offers unexpected playing comfort in the upper registers.
