I am offering a Gibson ES-275 Custom from 2017, a handcrafted in Memphis, Tennessee (USA), hollowbody model featuring a compact 15’’ thinline body with Venetian cutaway, back, sides and top made of impressively figured flamed maple (3.03kg total weight!), set-in mahogany neck with rounded “C” neck profile and 42.9mm bone nut, bound rosewood fingerboard with block-shaped mother-of-pearl inlays, hand-wound Gibson MHS AlNiCo II & III humbucker pickups, Gibson ABR-1 bridge on a rosewood base with titanium saddles, high-quality Grover Milk Bottle Rotomatics tuners, as well as classic Three Bar Archtop tailpiece in a beautifully fading Sunset Burst nitro finish with glossy gold hardware in like-new condition, including Gibson luxury hardshell case, manufacturer’s papers and professional setup with D’Addario ECG25 12-gauge strings.

This Gibson ES-275 in Sunset Burst, crafted in 2017 at the Gibson Custom Shop in Memphis, is a masterfully crafted instrument that combines classic Gibson charm with modern sounds and features.

The guitar features a body shape unusual for Gibson, whose curves are immediately reminiscent of an L-5, but in a narrower thinline design with a hollowbody construction without a center block. It features a top, sides, and back made of spectacularly figured laminated flamed maple. The ES-275 thus has a total weight of just 3.03kg, which ensures great handling and gives the guitar incredible acoustic resonance. In addition, the instrument features a set-in mahogany neck with a medium rounded “C” profile, as well as a rosewood fingerboard bound in cream-white bindings and adorned with block-shaped mother-of-pearl inlays, which together provide a comfortable playing experience for the hand.

In terms of tone, two Gibson MHS AlNiCo II & III humbuckers—developed specifically for these ES Hollowbody models and hand-wound—deliver an extremely versatile sound, offering everything your heart desires, from mid-range floating rhythm harmonies and singing blues tones to more dominant solo passages à la George Benson.

Visually, the guitar impresses with a wonderfully three-dimensional grain beneath the thin, beautifully executed Sunset Burst nitro finish, and loving details such as the Three Bar Archtop tailpiece, the tortoise pickguard, and the Gibson Custom Split Diamond mother-of-pearl logo on the 5-ply bound headstock round out the look.

The Gibson ES-275 Custom is no longer in production and has become rare.

The guitar is in mint original condition and is technically flawless. Visually, the instrument shows virtually no visible wear (see photos). The electronics work perfectly and the frets are in immaculate condition.
