This is a 1964 Kay Jazz ll archtop guitar....in need of parts. This sale is just the body and case shown. EZ project ---- it has had a recent luthier pro refret and plays nice when strung up! Neck angle is good and there should be nothing needed except add parts of your choice. For short money you can have a easy playing and great sounding vintage jazz box!
Overall, the condition is better than most I see. Headstock edges and back of neck are pretty clean. See pics. The body has a footprint showing where the vibrato used to be, and assorted other small signs of play wear. Finish is in good shape and still pretty shiny. On the back, some normal age-related signs of wear on the clear coat..finish checking, wear to the clear coat, a little cloudiness here and there, and (on the back) some very minor cracks in the top layer of plywood-- but it is stable and really nothing to worry about...these minor surface checks have been there many decades and are stable. Needs nothing. It has a fantastic authentic relic look. Please see all detail pics for condition, which I would rate as vintage-very-good.
Headstock has the original factory routes for grover tuners.
The lower bout is 15 inches. Depth is 2 and 1/8th.
Scale is 25.5 inches.
Nice full size jazz box with a really natural woody tone.
Fun / EZ project!
