2008 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul '57 Reissue (R7) – Candy Apple Red
A rare Gibson Custom Shop special-finish Les Paul from 2008, finished in Candy Apple Red over a dark back.
Based on a 1957 Reissue platform, this guitar features the classic Historic Collection specifications including:
• Long neck tenon
• Full 50s C neck profile
• Burstbucker pickups
• Historic construction and top carve
• Factory no-pickguard specification (no pickguard mounting holes)
During research into this instrument, Gibson confirmed that guitars of this type were internally associated with the "LP Sparkle" designation used for metallic special-finish runs. Gibson was unable to locate a formal spec sheet or production data for this model, indicating it was not part of the standard Historic catalog lineup.
The only documented matching example I have been able to locate is serial number 78441, previously sold by GuitarPoint Germany. This guitar is serial number 78442.
Condition is very good with only light signs of use. Very little use in my ownership. No known modifications, repairs, breaks or structural issues. Weight is approximately 4.0 kg.
