Little by little, you don't even dare to open the packages from the Fender Custom Shop anymore. What you keep seeing lately simply takes your breath away! This also with this wonderful '62 reissue that was built for us. A Strat that wants to compete with the best originals in terms of quality, modified with a Seymour Duncan "Pearly Gates" on the bridge and which otherwise corresponds to an original from around May 1962 in all details such as lacquer structure, body shaping, etc. A few things that we always like to incorporate and that the luthiers in Corona skillfully implement can also be found in this example. These include the slightly flatter fingerboard radius and higher fret wire (here Narrow Tall / 6105). Nothing that could surprise the Custom Shop - after all, Eric Johnson had his famous '55 model modified in the same way here already in the early 1980s. At that time, the Custom Shop was basically just a small department that took care of the wishes of well-known guitarists like EJ. It would take until 1987 before they started producing instruments for the "normal" guitarist in small quantities.
