Bare Knuckle’s nod to Peter Green's iconic 1959 Les Paul!
The Bare Knuckle PG Blues humbucker set is designed to faithfully replicate the iconic tones of Peter Green's famous 1959 Les Paul, including the legendary out-of-phase tone achieved when both pickups are engaged.
The PG Blues set features Alnico II sand-cast magnets, scatter-wound bridge coils made of 42AWG plain enamel wire, and specially wound Heavy Formvar neck coils to recreate the distinct out-of-phase middle-position.
Vintage-correct solid nickel silver baseplates and covers, combined with completely unpotted coils, contribute to the expressive, vowel-like vocal delivery, bright yet sweet highs and warm bass response that define Peter Green’s signature tone.
Individually, the bridge humbucker delivers a pure '59 PAF sound with the expected touch-sensitive response that comes from using unpotted coils.
The PG Blues neck humbucker, despite being wound out of phase with the bridge, retains its own unique, pure, and fat tone.
Whether you're playing haunting ambient lead lines, delicate chord progressions, or unleashing all-out blues rock, the PG Blues humbuckers are tailor-made for players seeking authentic vintage tone with a distinctive edge!
