Based on the PRS SE Paul’s Guitar and Kanami Tono’s (of Japanese rock band BAND-MAID) Limited Edition Custom 24-08, the PRS SE Rock Lady pays tribute to Rock is a Lady’s Modesty anime. This unique collaboration centers around the anime’s main character Lilisa Suzunomiya’s (Lily) guitar.

This guitar brings a lot of “PRS” to players, starting with tone and versatility. The TCI “S” treble and bass pickups deliver a wide array of tones from spanky single coils to full soapbar sounds. Designed with PRS Guitars’ founder Paul Reed Smith, these pickups are very musical and embody everything we have learned about pickup design to date. These pickups are paired with a 3-way toggle pickup selector and two mini-toggle switches.

The mini-toggles allow you to coil-tap the pickups independently, giving players a total of eight pickup combinations. Anchoring this guitar is the PRS Stoptail bridge, which features specially curved string slots with brass inserts to ensure optimal contact for the string, yielding a powerful and resonant instrument.

Visually, the guitar was designed to replicate “Lily’s” guitar as close as possible, with a Pink Pearl top, black headstock face, natural back, and purple-toned pickup bobbins. One notable difference is the inclusion of PRS’s trademark bird inlays. Finally, there is a line-drawing of a lily on the truss rod cover as a nod to the show and a unique finishing detail.

The theme song to the Rock is a Lady’s Modesty anime was written by PRS Artist Kanami Tono and her band: BAND-MAID. The show, based on the manga of the same name, also used motion-capture to record Kanami’s playing style and replicate her movements within the show, which have in turn been praised for their high-energy delivery. If you are a fan of anime or of the feature set that both Kanami of BAND-MAID and Paul Reed Smith play, this is a guitar worth checking out.
