Vintage - Brauner phantom classic

Vintage Brauner Phantom Classic for sale. The model has been discontinued and is exceptionally rare on the used market, where it is listed as a “Rare Find” on Reverb.

The capsule design is based on the sonic concept of Brauner’s legendary VM1 tube microphone, delivering an exceptionally natural, clean and detailed sound with a silky-smooth top end. The Phantom Classic is regarded as a serious alternative to microphones such as the Neumann U87 and works particularly well on vocals, acoustic instruments and other sources where clarity, detail and natural reproduction are important. Brauner themselves describe the model as a FET microphone with a sound quality more commonly associated with their tube microphones.

The microphone has only been used in a smoke-free studio and is in excellent working condition. It has a few minor cosmetic signs of use; please see the photos.

One of the four suspension elements in the shockmount has broken. This happened relatively early in its life. The remaining three have held the microphone securely for many years, and this does not affect the microphone’s function or sound.

Includes the original Brauner shockmount and aluminium case.

Selling because I have mainly moved over to tube microphones.
