The AKG C414 XLII is a very versatile microphone with many selectable polar patterns: Omni, Wide Cardioid, Cardioid, Hypercardioid, Figure-8. There are three switchable pad settings (-6, -12 and -18 dB) and three selectable high-pass filters (40 Hz, 80 Hz and 160 Hz).
Compared to the C414 XLS, the XLII features a subtle presence boost in the upper midrange and high frequencies, giving recordings a little more air, clarity and forwardness without becoming harsh.
The microphone is in excellent working condition with only light cosmetic signs of normal use.
