Just in on trade is a very fine D-41 that really shines in all respects, it is one of the best we have seen and heard and should really keep!

For those looking for such things I can only say that these earlier pieces are not just a D-28 with extra added bling, like the newer ones probably are!

This is a special guitar with a magnificent orchestral and emotive tone….. replica’s and imitators get nowhere near this.

Its definitely a good year to buy, not long after they started fitting adjustable truss rods, always useful, and then you have four decades of alchemy to enhance the tone to this level, impossible to find on a new guitar.

She was made late 80’s so anyone looking for a 40th birthday present, look no further!

Cosmetic condition subjectively mint, seems to have been played a lot, so there are of course traces of use in the form of brush marks and suchlike, most of which would genuinely polish out if determined to remove all character!

Certainly above average condition for the year, and not many around in such clean condition

Structure good to very good, nothing noteworthy 

Cosmetically, there is very minimal lacquer checking, far less than usual for the year, just a faint lacquer check-line on the centre of the top board, couple of inch long, otherwise super clean

Frets good, well seated no issues

Neck angle respectable for a vintage Martin, a neck reset is on this guitar is not (delete as appropriate) required/adviseable/necessary/predicted/scheduled/available/or otherwise comment-worthy! 

Saddle has circa 2.5mm adjustment room (more than most)

Action set sensibly low circa 2.75mm @ 12th

Plays really really well
